June News

June 3, 2009

I was over in Istanbul last week, the new Turkish album is finally almost ready…….more news on that very soon…very excited, the songs sound terrific…Paul is finishing up the mixing……

Flew to Amsterdam on Sunday 31st May for a short European tour with Joey (DeGraw) in Europe, supporting his brother Gavin. It’s going great. The first 2 dates were in Amsterdam…June 1st and 2nd….what a great place that is. It was especially cool, as the weather was beautiful, and we also had a couple of days to check the place out.

Joey and I took a canal cruise (see photo), Canal Cruise in Amsterdam

and stopped off to visit the Anna Frank museum. Very moving. Together with Gavin and Joey we went to the Van Gogh museum….what an amazing collection of artwork they have there.

I decided to rent a bicycle…lot of fun! Quite a change from riding around crazy Manhattan…all those beautiful canals and old houses soaked in history blew me away….hope to visit again soon. The gigs were great, really nice crowd, lots of friendly faces. The Paradiso is a really cool venue too. Joey and I really enjoyed playing the shows and Gavin and the guys sounded great. A lot of fun indeed!Amsterdam

The tour bus arrived, and we left around 3am, waking up in Lubeck, Germany.Lubeck is also steeped in history with incredible buildings built centuries ago. Joey Tour 2009

Had a good stroll around taking in the sights and sounds. The weather was much cooler today, and it also rained….we took time to catch up on emails and relax. Leaving for Copenhagen in a couple of hours……

March 2nd

March 2, 2009

All guns ahead for the new Turkish Cd coming out in the Spring! Also recording an album of “straight takes”, ie, Voice and Guitar, no overdubs, one straight take. That’s a lot of fun. My buddy and sound engineer Suavik has these great “salt lights”, they ionize the air in the room, and are very relaxing…I gotta get me a couple of those…

Tuesdays at Natonal Underground with Phil & John are a ton of fun…hope to see you there, also got great burgers, hotdawgs and cheeseplates! No need to leave to eat…
Sunday afternoons at home base, “The Red Lion” are a great alternative hang, I get to play real vibey tunes and drink tea! Jolly good…
Right…off to Chinatown for some veggies and fruit… I’m totally into juicing these days, helps alot  to balance out the late night madness and keep the vits topped up…Have a great day…
